For those that are new to the Porsche Speedster the 356 was made until 1955 at which time Porsche introduced the 356A. The early 356 cars had either split or bent (center creased) windshields. This particular one has the bent version. The subsequent 356A has a curved windshield.
Originally the 356 had an 1100 cc engine but that was later changed to 1300 cc and 1500 cc engines. During its production run from 1948-1955 only 7,627 Porsche Speedster 356’s were made. Popularity increased later and over 21,000 356A version were produced. Cars such as this one are a rare find and command a high price. This particular vehicle sold at auction for $330,000.
