This particular 1959 Porsche 356A Cabriolet is a very rare collectors grade, numbers matching 356A Hardtop Convertible. This vehicle has spent most of it’s life in the basement of a local Omaha, Nebraska Porsche Club enthusiast. It was purchased in the early 1960’s from a struggling dental student who needed the money for a semesters tuition. From that point on, this beautiful 356 rested in storage for almost 40 years being cared for by a local enthusiast. It was eventually sold from the enthusiast to his friend in Houston, Texas. This piece of Porsche history spent the next 2 years being fully restored to it’s current better than new condition. This 356 was ideal for restoration since it truly a rust-free example of Porsche history. It was sold by indiGO Classic Cars for $$$$$$$$ in February of 2016.

This is a fully restored in Red with a removable Black Hardtop over a Tan interior with a beautiful Red dash and Black leather seats. The Porsche is powered by a 1.6L Flat Four Cylinder engine producing 70 hp through a Rear Wheel Drive and a 4-Speed Manual Transmission.
In late 1958 Porsche decided to make some subtle yet brilliant changes to their already instant classic, the 356, by featuring a slightly taller and more practical windshield (which also allowed for more headroom when the hard top is in place), roll-up glass side windows, and more comfortable leather seats than in previous years. Karmann produced the hard top for the 1959 356A Cabriolet. Porsche only produced 944 of the 1959 Cabriolet model until they decided to replace the model with the 356B Speedster model the following year.
