This Concourse ready 1953 Porsche 356 Pre-A Cabriolet is a great running car and rare pre-a example. Porsche built only 394 cabriolets in 1953, about half of which survive to this day. This particular chassis, 60175, was purchased from the previous owner in 2014, who gave the car a no-expenses-spared, off-body restoration during his quarter-century of ownership. This restoration included the installation of an upgraded, more powerful 1600S Porsche 356 engine. Since that time, the car has remained largely preserved, mostly being used in shows as part of a larger collection. This car was sold by Black Horse Garage in Bridgeport, CT for $175,100 in January of 2016.

The current overall condition of this vehicle is excellent. The cream paint still shines very well, and the top is in equally good condition, with no leaks. The red leather seats are excellent, as is the red carpeting throughout. Fit and finish throughout, including glass, dash, and body panels, is spectacular. The engine runs very smoothly and the steering is appropriately quick for an early Porsche. Overall, this car is still suitable for any top-tier concours event.
The car includes a Telefunken radio ID51 / ID52 original tube radio with AM, SW (short wave), mono, programmable preselective pushbuttons, a wood wheel, Pre A toolkit and spare wheel.
